1998 Kondia B1050 CNC Vertical Machining Center

Vertical machining center for milling, drilling, tapping and boring of steel, cast iron, aluminium and engineering plastics. It has a 22-position umbrella-type tool changer, flood coolant through a nozzle ring around the spindle and full enclosure guarding with sliding front doors. The two machine vices mounted on the table and the tool holders are included. It suits job shops, mould and die work, prototyping and small to medium batch production of mechanical components.

Condition and service history

The machine was in production until April/May 2026, running 2 to 3 hours a day. Around 2024 the Heidenhain control began failing to start. Heidenhain no longer services this control, so at the end of 2024 a specialised electronics repair company in Bologna overhauled it. The control then sometimes showed errors on the Y axis at power-on, and these cleared after referencing the axes. The Y-axis linear scale was replaced. The fault came back a few months later, and now the control screen does not switch on and a red indicator light comes on. The same repair company found that the control motherboard needs to be replaced. That repair has not been done, and the machine is sold as is.
