Laiti & Petronilli LPM 460/61 Marble and Granite Block Cutting Machine

Block cutting machine for producing strips (filagne) of marble and granite from quarry blocks. It cuts with a single vertical diamond disc carried on a 4-column structure, and the 140 hp disc drive gives it the power for hard stone such as granite. It was bought overhauled in 1998 and is in working order. It is currently disconnected from the power supply, and an electrician can reconnect it in about an hour, so it can be seen running after that. Used in stone processing plants, marble and granite workshops, and quarries for squaring and cutting blocks into strips and slabs for countertops, floor and wall tiles, cladding, paving, steps, monumental and funerary work, and architectural stone.
